Pictures took center stage once again at CinemaCon 2026, and it gave us a sneak peek at the future films on its schedule, including The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum, Dune: Part 3, Mortal Kombat II, Supergirl, Clayface, Digger, Evil Dead Burn, and more.The presentation was not live-streamed, so we’ve broken down all the biggest reveals and moments for you below so you can learn more about these films that are headed our way.The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum Teaser Shows Gollum Keeping His Story Secret and the Reveal of Jamie Dornan as StriderWe got a quick look at The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum, and it showed Gollum in a cave speaking to himself, saying he must keep his story secret and that it can never be told. However, the biggest news may be that Jamie Dornan will be playing Strider / Aragorn instead of Viggo Mortensen.We also got other casting news, including Andry Serkis as Gollum / Sméagol, Ian McKellen as Gandalf, Kate Winslet as Marigol, Leo Woodall as Halvard, Lee Pace as Thranduil, and Elijah Wood as Frodo Baggins.The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum will be released in theaters on December 17, 2027.Dune: Part 3 Footage Was Like the Normandy Beach Scene from Saving Private Ryan but on an Alien PlanetThe footage was saw of Dune: Part 3 was basically the Normandy beach scene from Saving Private Ryan but on an alien planet, with Stilgar and the Fremen charging toward giant cannons that rise out of the ground. Before that though, they are seen on the spaceship being very contemplative, knowing this could be the end when they land on the beach. The Fremen are then amazed by rain – Water from the sky! It’s miracle – but they are still trying to take down these giant cannons that look like towers/mountains.More like thisOpen Back Headphones: A Sound Experience Like No OtherStilgar leads his mean to some kind of containers to take cover, and they crawl under a tower to get its coordinates and call in a strike. The footage ends with a coward running away from the incoming fire and getting blown away.Check out Dune: Part 3’s trailer from March 2026 below.Mortal Kombat II Clip Shows Johnny Cage Facing Off Against BarakaMortal Kombat II entered the arena with new footage that shows the end of Shao Khan’s reign. Liu Kang then challenges Baraka to single combat, but he declines, to which Johnny Cage calls them both a bunch of “giant f****** p******.” Baraka then decides to fight Cage as he finds him very annoying.Cage notes he has “stuntmen to do this s*** for me,” and knows he can’t take Baraka. As he is dodging Baraka’s blows, he tells him not to hurt his beautiful face! Cage then flees into a hut with Baraka-like kids, and Baraka quickly finds him and throws him down in a put where he finds his shades.He puts them on and dodges more of Baraka’s attacks before he drops to his knees and punches Baraka right in his junk, to which Jax replies, “Goddamn!” Mortal Kombat II will fight its way into theaters on May 8, 2026.Supergirl Saves Ruthye and Uses the Sun to Take Down Her EnemiesWe were shown a scene in Supergirl that begins with Kara putting goggles on because of dust. She gets on a public transportation ship, and one alien is puking in his seat.We pan to other aliens and one is even smoking. Kara is sitting across from that one and she says, “Maybe give us a break from that hookah thingy?” She then notices a young girl (Eve Ridley’s Ruthye) is ins trouble and screams in an alien language at a large alien who was the cause. The ship is then stopped and some tech pirates board, and Kara says they’re probably going to rob them all blind. They go person to person scanning for things they want, and one pirate takes a small orb from Kara and another wants Ruthye’s sword. Ruthye tries to protest, but Kara says it’s not worth it. Check out the Supergirl trailer from March 2026 below!Kara then gets up and grabs the alien’s teleport device, and she begins teleporting all over the train and ends up with the pilot. She asks how close they are to a yellow sun, and she takes matters into her own hands by putting on a spacesuit. However, an alien stops her and she is sent out into space with no helmet as the alien ship leaves her behind.The yellow sun finally begins to rise and Kara begins to move and get stronger. She flies back to the ship and is shot by a laser, but she uses heat vision to hold prevent the biast for getting out of cotrll? (Sorry, I had to!What followed next was a montage of footage, including Kara and Krypto in a pod escaping Krypton. Superman then shows up and says “hi” as Kara describes him to Ruthye as a “fricking nerd.” Kara is then seen fighting with Lobo and saying she’s going to do “something stupid.” The final shot is Kara blasting heat vision at her enemies.Supergirl Director and Stars Discuss Upcoming DC Studios FilmSupergirl director Craig Gillespie, Milly Alcock, and Jason Momoa all appeared on-stage to discuss the upcoming DC Studios film, and Momoa even dressed up as Lobo and rode his motorcycle during his intro. Alcock was wearing a t-shirt with the Superman logo shape but with a different symbol inside it – like two C’s overlapping back-to-back.Gillespie talked about how he wasn’t expecting the film to mostly off-planet. Our characters will visit six different planets, and Alcock had to learn five languages to do all she needed to do. Alcock also revealed that there is no real Crypto on set and it’s all digital, so there was a lot of miming going on. She’s also really excited that Supergirl can be the first female superhero some young girls will ever meet.Momoa was then asked if Lobo or Aquaman would win in a fight. He sa
